Recently it was discovered that hackers have been able to get data in the computer systems of over 50 million American customers through Dark Web markets. These Dark Web Markets aren't exactly the same as the regular web and are not meant for customer usage. Nevertheless, anyone who has any kind of internet connection can access them and put their personal information at risk.
According to a article in the Wall Street Journal, Federal Bureau of investigation agents uncovered a Dark Web host comprising more than two hundred images and videos between child pornography. The videos and images had been archived on Dark Web sites known as dark nets. The dark web is simply the World Wide Web's content which exists on dark nets: hidden networks that connect to the Internet but require special applications, configuration, or authorization to find access.
The Dark Web was made in the year 2012, after it had been given legal protection by The United States government. According to the Journal, the FBI agents' investigation of Dark Web sites discovered a picture of a four-year-old girl who appeared to be participating in webcam conversation with an individual she believed was a grownup. Back in August 2015 that the FBI found evidence on Dark Web sites of two men who were sending what appeared to be sexual messages to a little. In both cases, agents were able to gain access to the Dark Web because the passwords and digital certificates on the Dark Web sites were easily changed.
Many specialists have speculated that this Dark Web phenomenon may result from the increase in popularity of Dark Web social networks like FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube over the past five years. Unfortunately, with all the lack of public reporting of this type of cybercrimes, it is not possible to ascertain how many people actually perpetrated this crime with the Dark Web.
